I am a first-generation Iranian-American raised in the Bay Area. My grandfather was a physician and taught me the core values of patient care at an age far before I knew I wanted to be a physical therapist. Learning about different cultures, languages, and where things come from are fascinating to me. I am advocate for diversity. I truly believe exercise is medicine and the human body is the most amazing machine. I am a firm believer in celebrating life and not taking it so seriously because it it’s too short not to enjoy every minute. Laughing till the tears roll down with people I love most is the absolute best thing to me!
I usually fear change, but 2020 forced me to change my view and adapt to evolving circumstances. Since the pandemic, I tapped into new strengths, ambitions, and curiosities. I started my own virtual practice to help reach those in need of PT remotely and took to social media. The best part of all was learning my own PT identity. I am able to share my own style of care and have the freedom to teach my philosophy with patients. I now also do corporate wellness seminars, work as an on-site sports physical therapist, am a media spokesperson, and have been featured in over 15 publications! I never thought staying true to myself and my beliefs would amount to this. Habits and values established as an athlete and grad student have found new form in my everyday life. Those habits are perseverance, tenacity, and the drive to be a better in everything I choose to do.
