As a first year medical student, I’m still learning how to balance time between my studies, hobbies, research, family, & friends. I don’t know what I want to specialize in the future, but I do know that being myself & following my passions outside of medicine is what got me into medical school & will help me decide what specialty will best suit me.
I find great value in surrounding yourself with those who will uplift you. Creating and maintaining a strong support system is so important in life, especially as a medical student. I try to touch base with friends I haven’t spoken to for a while, schedule Facetimes, network, & send a Happy Birthday text! Our relationships we form are what will last and what we will cherish the most.
