Stewart Lockett
I was born in New Iberia, Louisiana. I’ve always wanted to be a physician as long as I could remember. My dad passed away from stomach cancer during my freshman year of college. That only motivated me more to advocate and learn more about healthcare. I’m currently a second-year medical student at LSU Health Shreveport where I will join and grow the 6% of Black Men that are physicians in America. Without the white coat, I am just a community guy who wants to make a difference in the life of others! I’ve always worked in my community through mentorship programs and service outreach. I served as LSU Student Body President in 2018-2019. Being the first elected black man in 28 years! Ever since then, I’ve continued to stand up for social justice, and mentor students from across the state.
”#withoutthewhitecoat I am a community servant and advocate.
