Tony Da Lomba
I come from a family of artisans. My parents are upholsterers, so all my life, I’ve watched them transform beat-up sofas and chairs into completely new masterpieces. Whether they know it or not, they’re the ones who inspired my passion for visual arts. Like their projects, my artwork represents who I am and what I’m capable of accomplishing. Each of my pieces reflects my self-expression, years of art classes, and my apprenticeship as a career artist. (Trust me…I needed all of those lessons and the coaching from my mentor.) Ultimately, my art will forever be a work in progress. It’s my humility and my pride—my work ethic and my reprieve from work. It’s a little bit of me with everything that I make, and that’s the authenticity I bring with or without my white coat.
